The Friends of Cedar Hill Park have been active in maintaining the natural areas of the Park since 2006. Our work is done in the natural areas of the Park outside golf course boundaries under the Saanich Pulling Together Volunteer Program.
Weekly invasive species removal at preplanned areas of the Park: We work under the direction of Lead Steward, Jim Moores every Monday morning from 9 am until 12 noon. Please let us know if you would like to join us through our email address: FriendsofCedarHillPark@gmail.com
Monday, December 4th, we will work in the SW corner of the park and the adjacent strip along the access road (same as previous week). Watch for poison hemlock. There is lots to do but if we finish we can continue northward along the east side of the chip trail as we did before. See the attached map. Meet at our Pulling Together sign board. If driving you can park in one of the lots off Finlayson Street. Hope to see you there for any time you can spare.
At your request, we will add you to our weekly email to advise where we will meet. You will need good boots, old clothes and garden gloves. We will provide the necessary tools. No experience is necessary.
If you are interested on helping us and you have not yet signed "The Corporation of the District of Saanich - RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS, ASSUMPTION OF RISKS AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT", please print the form and bring a signed copy (or email us and we will bring a form for your signature) to the next event.
